Lord – I faced the titanic forces of life, to overcome them. They rebelled and made a rag of me. I trembled in the solitude of sleepless nights; I dragged myself along the paths of my duty, fingernails and elbows, when my feet were already bleeding. I have lived to suffer and I have suffered to love You, Lord.
What does it matter if I won or lost, if I’m good or bad, if I’m rich or poor, loved or cursed, if You’re here, Lord, and I’m not alone anymore, if You’re by my side and cheer me up?
LORD, I am Your servant, I want nothing more than this.
LORD, I offer myself to you for the salvation of the world.
LORD, I will follow you to the cross.
These were the three vows that Pietro Ubaldi made at the beginning of the mission (1937) and he repeated them and lived his whole life.
